Terms of Service

By accessing or using lait.finance ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, with notice provided via email or in-app notification.

lait.finance is a personal finance aggregation and portfolio management platform. It allows you to connect bank accounts (via Open Banking/PSD2), brokerage accounts (via SnapTrade), crypto wallets, exchanges, track real assets, liabilities, and savings accounts, and view your consolidated net worth, track investments, monitor transactions, and receive AI-powered financial insights, all in one dashboard.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

To use the Service, you must create an account via our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately at support@lait.finance if you suspect unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

All connections to your financial accounts (banks, brokerages, exchanges, wallets) are strictly read-only. lait.finance cannot and will never initiate payments, transfers, trades, or any other financial transactions on your behalf. We can only view balances and transaction history that you explicitly authorize.

When you connect a bank account, the connection is facilitated by Enable Banking, a licensed Account Information Service Provider (AISP) operating under PSD2 regulations. By connecting a bank account, you:

• Authorize Enable Banking to access your account information on behalf of lait.finance.
• Acknowledge that consent is valid for up to 90 days and must be renewed.
• Can revoke access at any time through lait.finance Settings or directly with your bank.
• Understand that your bank may have its own terms governing third-party access.

When you connect a brokerage account, the connection is facilitated by SnapTrade, a brokerage-connection service provider operating in Canada under EU data adequacy findings. By connecting a brokerage account, you authorize SnapTrade to access your holdings and balance data on behalf of lait.finance. All connections are strictly read-only: we cannot execute trades, place orders, or move your funds. You can revoke access at any time through lait.finance Settings.

If you provide API keys for crypto exchanges or other services, you are solely responsible for ensuring those keys have read-only permissions. lait.finance encrypts stored credentials but is not liable for any consequences of providing keys with write or trade permissions. We strongly recommend using read-only API keys exclusively.

The Service includes AI-powered features (transaction categorization, financial advisor). These features:

• Provide informational insights only and do not constitute financial advice.
• Use third-party AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) to process transaction descriptions, depending on your selection.
• May produce inaccurate categorizations or suggestions; always verify AI outputs.
• Should not be relied upon for investment, tax, or legal decisions.

lait.finance is a data aggregation and visualization tool. Nothing on the platform constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All portfolio values, performance metrics, and AI insights are for informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions.

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection law. Your rights, including access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection, are detailed in our Privacy Policy. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@lait.finance.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers against the Service.
• Share your account credentials with others.
• Upload malicious files or content.
• Circumvent rate limits or security measures.

lait.finance aggregates data from multiple external sources (banks, brokerages, exchanges, market data providers). While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all displayed values, prices, balances, or calculations are correct at all times. External APIs may experience delays, outages, or inaccuracies. You should always verify important financial information directly with your financial institutions.

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime.

lait.finance is currently free during the beta period. If we introduce paid plans in the future, existing users will be notified in advance and will not be charged without explicit consent.

All content, design, code, and branding of lait.finance are the property of Carlos Muñoz. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, lait.finance and its operator shall not be liable for:

• Any financial losses resulting from reliance on data displayed in the Service.
• Inaccurate portfolio valuations, price data, or calculations.
• Unauthorized access to your account due to compromised credentials.
• Actions taken by third-party services (banks, brokerages, exchanges, API providers).
• Loss of data due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any and all claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid in the last 12 months (or €100 if no fees were paid). This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law (death, personal injury, willful misconduct, fraud).

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data is purged within 30 days, consistent with our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

Before filing a lawsuit, we encourage you to contact us to resolve disputes informally. As a consumer in the EU, you may also have access to out-of-court dispute resolution, including the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform and the Spanish consumer arbitration system (Sistema Arbitral de Consumo). If informal resolution fails, disputes are resolved in the courts of Barcelona, Spain.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
